Yongensha
Yongensha is a ukulele brand created by ukulele maker Tetsuo Tsuchizawa, who has a workshop in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture. He lived in Hawaii for work from 2008 to 2013, and was deeply impressed by the performances of professional ukulele players he met during his stay. This inspired him to pursue full-time ukulele making. He studied the fundamentals and philosophy of ukulele making at Hana Lima 'Ia, a school run by renowned ukulele maker Michael Chock in Honolulu.
After returning to Japan, he rented a corner of the woodworking studio "Tenomori" in Tsuyazaki, Fukutsu City and started making his pieces. After that, he set up a workshop in his own home, and now he works hard at his workshop in the 50-year-old housing complex "Hinosato."
