Sakata Guitas tenor ukulele, custom made Martin Style 1T style ukulele bar, Cuban mahogany body
Sakata Guitars is the workshop of luthier Hisashi Sakata, who produces high-end acoustic guitars in traditional styles such as Martin and Gibson in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
This model, the UT-1C, was specially ordered by our staff at the workshop. It is a tenor ukulele based on the famous Martin Style-1 Tenor ukulele, and the 13-fret joint gives it the playability and sound that is unique to Sakata Guitars.
The fingerboard and bridge are made from Sakata's treasured Jacaranda (Brazilian Rosewood).
As a special specification, the body material has been upgraded from Honduran mahogany, which is the standard specification for Sakata Guitars ukuleles, to Cuban mahogany, resulting in an excellent finish in terms of both volume and reverb.
The top has Tortoise binding and the pegs are GOTOH UPT.
