A commemorative model created by the "living legend" Shiro Tsuji, featuring a luxurious sound with a Jacaranda body
Shiro Tsuji, a legendary luthier, has been working with wood for over half a century in his tranquil workshop in Gokayama, Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture. In the 1960s, he created the famous "Chaki P Series" of stringed instruments that dominated the vintage market at his Chaki stringed instrument workshop. He then worked for the world-renowned collector Akira Tsumura, where he was deeply involved in the restoration of historic instruments such as Martin, Gibson, D'Aquisto, and Angelico.
Mr. Tsuji, who is well-versed in the internal structures of many vintage instruments, has poured his vast knowledge and experience into this work, bringing the pinnacle of ukuleles, the Martin 5K, back to life in modern times with a rosewood body as a 5th anniversary model for Ukulele Bird.
This special edition features a body made from Jacaranda, the king of rare woods. Its deep bass and clear highs produce a rich, wide-ranging sound. Its solid construction allows it to grow deeper the more you play it, making it a "lifetime instrument." The exterior, with its maple binding, jet-black ebony fingerboard, and shining mother-of-pearl inlays, combines with the deep grain of the Jacaranda to create an elegant, artisanal feel. Enjoy the pleasure of developing a truly authentic sound with traditional nylon strings.
