A rare National metal body model with overwhelming volume and a unique, pleasant resonator sound
Since its founding in the 1920s, National Reso-Phonic has reigned as the pinnacle of instruments equipped with metal resonators. This instrument is a "Style O Concert," a very distinctive and powerful resonator ukulele that faithfully reproduces the design of the company's signature "Style O" guitar style in a ukulele size. Currently, it appears that new production is not being carried out according to the manufacturer's website, and opportunities to see it on the market are rapidly decreasing, making it a very rare concert model.
The most distinctive feature is the metal body, made of brass with a bright nickel plating that gives it a beautiful shine. Inside, National's traditional construction (single biscuit cone) is incorporated, producing a dry, overwhelming volume unique to metal instruments and excellent sustain that "pops" forward the moment a chord is strummed. From the serial number on the plate on the back of the head, this particular instrument is presumed to be from 2018. The Hawaiian palm tree graphics etched across the body add a vintage-like splendor to the ruggedness of the metal body.
This particular instrument shows signs of having been carefully played, with the dullness characteristic of nickel plating and metal parts, and as shown in the photos, a fair amount of signs of use and minor scratches. However, these rather enhance the atmosphere, giving it a realistic character reminiscent of old National guitars. Please note that a case is not included. This is a reliable instrument suitable for live performance, offering a strong individuality that will never be overshadowed by other instruments, whether for solo play on stage or in a band ensemble.
