This premium tenor ukulele is handcrafted by guitar maker Jordan McConnell, who has his workshop in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada!
The top is made of master-grade Swiss moon spruce*, and the sides and back are made of high-quality, straight-grained kingwood, a type of Brazilian rosewood.
*Moon spruce is high-quality spruce wood that is harvested in the few days just before the midwinter moon changes from waning quarter to new moon, and is dried through a strictly controlled process.It is said to produce a dense, strong material, and is currently considered the highest quality material for the tops of string instruments.
Two types of saddles are available, one for high-G tuning and one for low-G tuning, and they can be swapped. The default setting is high-G tuning.
The Zen-inspired rosette and end stripes are intricately inlaid with marquetry, showcasing the advanced craftsmanship and exceptional design sense. The finish is painstakingly finished with French polish, which allows the wood to breathe, and the sound becomes louder and more resonant over time.
Even with the clear nylon strings currently strung, the sound is breathtakingly clear and beautiful.
