A reproduction model from the 2000s of the 3M, a masterpiece that shines brightly in ukulele history. A solid mahogany soprano that has deepened with age.

The "Style-3M" is a legendary model, coveted by ukulele fans and known as the favorite of "Ukulele God" Herb Ohta. This is a used "3M-UKE" reproduction model from 2008, which Martin revived in the 2000s with all the technology of the time.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price at the time was 252,000 yen (tax included). This is a premium instrument produced in the Nazareth, Pennsylvania, factory using luxurious wood materials, before the rapid price increases and wood shortages that we see today.

The golden age specifications of the 1920s are faithfully reproduced, including the so-called "ornament" (5-layer line) decoration on the center of the body's top and bottom, the line inlay running down the center of the fingerboard, the fingerboard extended to the 17th fret, and the distinctive white binding.

The sound emanating from the carefully selected high-quality solid mahogany body has the lightness typical of a soprano size, yet with age, it has mellowed into a very smooth and sweet tone.

Although over 15 years have passed since its manufacture, the body shows some minor scratches and signs of use, but there are no major noticeable damages or repairs to cracks. It has been well-maintained and cherished by a player, indicating its excellent condition. The neck condition is also good, making it a piece that will continue to develop beautifully. The included original hardshell case is also a welcome bonus.

Martin ukulele is a traditional brand that was first produced in 1915 by CF Martin & Co., a long-established American guitar manufacturer. The brand was born during the Hawaiian music boom, and many models were released in the 1920s and 1930s. Many ukuleles manufactured up until the 1960s are still immensely popular in the vintage market today.
Production ceased in the 1970s, but was revived in the 2000s with the resurgence in popularity of the ukulele. They now produce reissue models and more affordable entry-level models.
