This model, the MS-4K, is the top-of-the-line Majesty ukulele, created by master craftsman Hideho Kawakami. This soprano ukulele uses a carefully selected 4A grade solid Hawaiian Koa body.
The Majesty soprano's distinctive body shape, with a slightly narrower upper body and sharper waist, provides excellent high-pitched sound, something that Kawakami is very proud of. The 352mm scale is a standard scale for a soprano, but the slightly thinner neck shape and 14th fret joint make it easy to play on the higher frets.
This luxurious guitar features vibrant abalone pearl purfling and curly maple binding. The tuning machines use Gotoh UPT, which offers excellent stability and precision.
Luxuriously made with 4A grade core material, The fact that this price range is possible is due to Kawakami's workshop having a large stock of products that has been in stock for many years.
Kawakami Guitars is a brand created by Hideho Kawakami, a luthier with a workshop in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture. He served as a master craftsman at Yairi Guitars for 40 years before retiring to found his own brand. Utilizing the craftsmanship honed over a career spanning more than 60 years, Kawakami's ukuleles are meticulously handcrafted, one by one, without compromise, and have reached a truly mature stage.
The joint brand Majesty, which he created with his son Yusuke Kawakami, who is active in Vancouver, Canada, is also gaining popularity.
