A ukulele maker known as the treasure of Hawaii. Ko'olau ( This is the top-of-the-line Ko'olau Model 400 in tenor size. The serial number and label are autographed by John Kitakis, Noah Bonk, and Andrew Bonk, confirming that this instrument was produced in 2016, at the peak of their career, under a collaborative family production system.
The body is crafted from the finest bright Hawaiian Koa wood, featuring eye-catching, exotic vertical grain. The headstock features a beautiful mother-of-pearl logo and the slotted headstock is equipped with world-class Waverley gold tuning machines. Combined with the ebony buttons, this guitar exudes the dignified aura of an antique instrument.
In terms of sound, the powerful tension provided by the slotted headstock and the black nylon strings work perfectly together, producing a thick, sweet, and exquisite tone with the overwhelming volume you'd expect from a tenor. It's currently tuned to a Hi-G setting.
Strap pins are attached to the neck heel and end.
Approximately nine years after its creation, the wood has stabilized and the sound is outstanding. This is a masterpiece that demonstrates the skill of a skilled craftsman.
