The body is made from premium-grade solid Hawaiian koa. Enjoy a sound that combines the bright tone characteristic of Hawaiian koa with rich mid-low frequencies, alongside its beautiful grain.

With the ample volume and wide dynamic range unique to a tenor size, and combined with a Low-G setup, it can handle a wide range of playing styles, from solo performances to ensembles.

Equipped with a sound port on the side of the body, allowing the player to feel the resonance of the instrument more directly, making it easier to control subtle nuances and volume.

Internally, it features Kanileʻa's unique TRU-R bracing system. This efficiently brings out the vibration of the top wood, achieving excellent response and rich volume. Furthermore, the radiused back structure provides a three-dimensional sound and natural sound projection.

The fingerboard, bridge, and headplate are made of ebony. It is equipped with Kanileʻa's original Gotoh lightweight geared tuners, ensuring high tuning accuracy and excellent weight balance.

Kanile'a

Kanileʻa ʻUkulele(カニレア・ウクレレ) は、1998年にハワイ・オアフ島でジョー・ソウザ氏とクリステン・ソウザ氏によって設立されたブランドである。

ジョー氏は、家族や仲間と歌い奏でる“カニカピラ”文化の中で育ち、名工ピーター “Uncle Pete” バミューデス氏のもとで製作技術を学ぶ。その後自宅ガレージで工房をスタートし、現在ではハワイを代表するウクレレブランドへと成長した。

伝統を大切にしながらも革新的な設計を積極的に取り入れており、独自の「TRUブレーシング」や快適性を高める各種構造など、演奏性と響きを追求した独創的な楽器作りで知られている。また、製作した楽器1本につき1本のコアの木を植樹する活動も行っており、ハワイの自然と文化を次世代へ繋ぐ取り組みを続けている。
