This is a used 2014 K-2 series premium grade Hawaiian Koa soprano ukulele with tortoise binding, a true classic.
The K-2 series with tortoise binding is now out of production. This particular instrument was purchased in 2014 at the showroom attached to the factory in Kaneohe, on the east coast of Oahu, Hawaii, making it a special one-of-a-kind piece.
The beautiful grain of the premium grade Hawaiian koa used generously on the top, sides, and back immediately catches the eye.
The internal structure features the unique patented "TRU-R Bracing System". By maintaining body strength while achieving extreme lightness, it allows for stress-free resonance the moment the strings are plucked, creating an overwhelmingly clear and three-dimensional modern sound. Furthermore, the "Radiused Back Structure" with its gently rounded back board achieves a rich volume and pleasant sound expansion that is unexpected for a soprano size.
The pegs are Kanile'a original Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons.
Despite being a 2014 model, there are no noticeable scratches, and it is in very good, clean condition. Having been played moderately, the sound has significantly increased in volume compared to when it was new, with a splendid lightness and a thick, rich bass range. Highly recommended for those looking for a great value soprano ukulele.
