The K-1T/PG is a tenor model from Kanile'a's standard line that deliberately eschews all decoration to directly pursue the "essence" of an instrument. The most distinctive feature of this instrument is its luxurious use of the highest-grade premium Hawaiian koa (PG) solid wood for the entire body. The deep, three-dimensional curly grain characteristic of the highest grade spreads throughout, and its beautiful gradation is further accentuated by a mirror-like UV gloss finish.
Precisely because of its minimalist design, stripped of all ornamentation such as binding and rosettes, the inherent sound of the premium koa is directly emitted without any obstruction. Furthermore, the scale and wide dynamic range unique to the tenor size combine to create a pleasant balance of the bright shimmer of Hawaiian koa and a deep, rich sustain.
Within the seemingly simple body lies Kanile'a's patented TRU-R bracing system.
