A new Kanileʻa sound Hawaiian koa concert ukulele with an innovative D-shaped soundhole!
This is a concert model from Kanileʻa's D-1 Series, incorporating new design philosophies.
The first thing that stands out on this instrument is its distinctive D-shaped soundhole, offset at the top of the body. This design was born from feedback gained during the development of Kanileʻa's flagship Platinum Series, and it contributes significantly not only to the aesthetics but also to the sound.
The body is made of solid Hawaiian koa. In addition to the bright and rich resonance characteristic of Hawaiian koa, the D-shaped soundhole efficiently draws out the overall body vibration, achieving a clear and profound sound. Furthermore, the synergistic effect with Kanile'a's unique "TRU-R bracing" adopted internally achieves both excellent volume and responsiveness.
Ebony is used for the fingerboard, bridge, and headplate. Mother-of-pearl is used for the position markers and head logo, resulting in a clean and simple design. The pegs are Kanileʻa's original Gotoh geared tuners, ensuring high tuning accuracy and comfortable operation.
While seemingly a unique design, when you actually hold it, you'll be convinced by its design intent and excellent sound. This is Kanileʻa's proposed next-generation standard model!
