An all-Pacific Koa solid body tenor ukulele from a Singaporean, authentic high-end ukulele brand.
Hozen, the founder of Singapore's handmade guitar brand Maestro Guitars, has launched his own premium brand, "Hozen." The Green Label, a high-end line of ukuleles, is handmade in very limited quantities.
Green Label ukuleles are crafted from select tonewoods and individually voiced by Ho Zen, and feature premium specs such as beveled cutaways, side sound ports and beveled armrests.
The cutaway in particular was designed under the supervision of Japan's legendary luthier, Uchida Mitsuhiro, and is named "Uchida Cutaway."
This tenor ukulele uses Pacific Koa for the body. It has a satin neck, a side sound hole, and is very playable. The fingerboard and rim are decorated with beautiful flower inlays made of white mother-of-pearl.
The original style fan bracing is made from Sitka spruce, and Japanese glue is used for adhesion, so the internal structure is also designed with a focus on sound making.
The neck is reinforced with carbon and the string height is set low, allowing for a technical playing style to fully utilize its power.
