The iconic Renaissance series concert ukulele from Daisaku Ukulele features a Renaissance shape and bowl back construction.
This model was released as a commemorative model for the 5th anniversary of Ukulele Bird, and was a big hit at the exhibition.
This is the concert model of the Daisaku Ukulele Renaissance Tenor.
Softly rounded The body shape, named "Renaissance," was created based on the blueprints of a Renaissance guitar found in the San Fernando, a sunken ship discovered off the coast of Spain in 1733 during the Age of Discovery. The Renaissance guitar has the same tuning as the ukulele, and is said to be one of the origins of the ukulele.
The back is made of Hawaiian Koa and maple, with a bowl back construction.
Each thin piece of wood is heated, bent, and glued together, and then grooves are carved into it to create a three-dimensional shape with undulating shadows and beautiful curves. This shape not only makes it easy to hold and less likely to slip, but also creates a unique acoustic effect that produces a rich reverberation.
This instrument is adorned with an air of artistic merit, with meticulous handcrafted details such as an attractive bridge made of ebony shaped like a mustache, an intricate rosette made of multiple layers of Brazilian rosewood, maple, mahogany, and mother-of-pearl (MOP), and elaborate rope binding.
The body is made of luxurious premium Hawaiian Koa, which not only has the brightness that only Hawaiian Koa can provide, but also the unique shape of the instrument and the characteristics of the nylon strings used to string it, resulting in a rounded tone.
It is fitted with an end pin carved from ebony.
