Mike DaSilva has a workshop in the suburbs of San Francisco where he makes high-quality ukuleles. In the 2010s, he became known in Japan as a favorite of James Hill, and the James Hill models made by DaSilva became popular in North America, Japan, and around the world. They are highly regarded not only for their delicate sound, but also for their stylish design.
This instrument has a traditional concert shape, but is slightly thicker at 65mm-70mm. The large fan-shaped head, a characteristic of Da Silva, is also stylish. The body is made of top-grade Hawaiian mango, and has a sweet, round, and cute tone that is typical of mango. Please watch the video to hear the fascinating sound.
