This concert-sized ukulele features a pear-shaped body made from rare figured ash, and is custom-made for our shop.

Cotan Made ukuleles are made by maker Masafumi Sato under the name Atelier Cotan in Tagajo City, Miyagi Prefecture. After studying string instrument making at ESP, Sato has balanced his time as a ukulele instructor and ukulele maker. He applies his experience in teaching performance to his instrument making, creating instruments that are easy to play.

The nut width is a slightly narrow 35mm, and the neck thickness is just right, making it highly recommended for those with small hands.
The fingerboard has a gentle radius, making it easy to play barre chords.

This pear-shaped (La France) instrument is the first to be available in store, other than as a customer order. The beautiful figured ash (called tamo at Cotan Made) top and the body shape give it a striking appearance.
The sides and back are walnut, and the walnut back in particular is one piece.

This instrument was ordered by our staff, who visited the workshop in Tagajo City, Miyagi Prefecture, and selected the materials.
It has a simple, rolling, and gentle tone, but it also has a rich volume and long sustain. The strings currently installed are D'Addario EJ-53C black nylon.
