Ayres Guitars is a guitar manufacturer founded in 1996 that produces high-quality acoustic guitars and ukuleles while valuing traditional handcrafting techniques. Ayres' factory is located in Vietnam, where skilled craftsmen make guitars by hand.
The "Uluru" ukulele series is named after Uluru, the rock formations of Australia. The sound is provided by Ayers' Overtone System (OTS), and the latest version, OTS3.0, provides a rich tone never heard before on any other ukulele.
This ukulele was specially ordered by our staff who visited Ayers' Vietnam factory in the summer of 2024 as a 5th anniversary model for Ukulele Bard. The body size is concert, and the string length is 400mm, which is slightly longer than usual. The top is made of high-quality "baked Adirondack spruce" used in acoustic guitars. This gives the ukulele a deep, vintage-like tone even when it's new. The sides and back are made of "African Blackwood," a high-quality material that is rare for ukuleles.
Ayers also prides itself on its intricate inlay techniques, and has created a special design for this commemorative model, with a "bird" inlay on the headstock and a "Tree of Life" inlay on the fingerboard.
