From aNueNue's new "Feather Series" which debuted in February 2026, the "UT188 MB (Moana Blue)" with its beautiful, deep ocean blue color has arrived.
This is a model I've been eagerly awaiting since I was shown a prototype during my visit to the aNueNue factory last November.
It's an all-solid construction featuring a cedar soundboard combined with quilted sapele as a veneer (double top), and 5A grade Taiwanese acacia solid wood for the sides and back.
It achieves a warm yet firm, clear and deep tone, combining the quick response and expressiveness characteristic of cedar.
The internal structure adopts a "Dual-Plate × Cross-Grain" construction with intersecting wood grain directions and a lattice bracing system derived from classical guitars.
By enhancing vibration efficiency, it achieves high levels of quick attack, sustain, and volume.
It also features a wedge joint structure to improve playability in the high positions, making it easy to play in a natural posture even with its tenor size.
In terms of aesthetics, it's an artistic piece filled with artisan's attention to detail, including a pink abalone rosette, feather inlays, and flame maple binding that beautifully accentuates the body. It is strung with the original Blue Moon strings, enhancing the overall blue concept.
This model is equipped with aNueNue's original "Air Blue" active pickup. In addition to the undersaddle piezo, a condenser microphone that captures the natural sound inside the body can be blended, allowing for a natural, airy ukulele sound to be output directly through an amplifier or PA system. The controls behind the soundhole allow for intuitive tone adjustment even during performance.
