A tenor model with a flame maple veneer on a cedar soundboard and solid 4A-grade mango for the back and sides!
The UT166 HS tenor model, featuring a Honey Sunburst color from aNueNue's new "Feather Series" that debuted in February 2026, has arrived.
This is a model I've been eagerly anticipating since I saw the prototype during my visit to the aNueNue factory last November.
It features an all-solid construction with a cedar soundboard combined with a flame maple veneer (double top), and 4A-grade solid mango for the back and sides.
The quick response and expressiveness characteristic of cedar, combined with the rich mid-range and cohesiveness of mango wood, achieve both lightness and a core resonance.
The high notes are clear and bright, the mid-range is rich, and the bass is tight and well-defined, allowing for delicate nuances to be fully expressed in fingerstyle.
The internal structure employs a "Dual-Plate × Cross-Grain" construction with intersecting grain directions and a lattice bracing system derived from classical guitars.
By enhancing vibration efficiency, it achieves a high level of quick attack, sustain, and volume.
Additionally, it adopts a wedge joint construction that improves playability in higher positions, making it easy to play in a natural posture even with its tenor size.
In terms of appearance, the pink abalone rosette and feather inlays are striking. Combined with the Honey Sunburst color, it creates a soft and華やかな (gorgeous) atmosphere.
