The UT166 HS tenor model in Honey Sunburst color, from aNueNue's new "Feather Series" launched in February 2026, has arrived.
This is a model I've been eagerly awaiting since I saw the prototype during my visit to the aNueNue factory last November.
It features a cedar soundboard with flame maple veneer (double top), and the back and sides are made of solid 4A-grade mango wood, making it an all-solid instrument.
The quick response and expressiveness unique to cedar, combined with the rich mid-range and cohesion of mango wood, achieve both lightness and a resonant core.
The high range is clear and bright, the mid-range is rich. The bass is tight and well-defined, allowing for precise expression of delicate nuances in fingerstyle playing.
The internal structure incorporates a "Dual-Plate × Cross-Grain" construction, where the wood grain directions are crossed, and a lattice bracing system derived from classical guitars.
By enhancing vibration efficiency, it achieves high levels of quick attack, sustain, and volume.
It also features a wedge joint construction to improve playability in higher positions, making it easy to play in a natural posture even with its tenor size.
In terms of appearance, the pink abalone rosette and feather inlay are striking. Combined with the Honey Sunburst color, it creates a soft and華やかな (hana-yakana - ornate/gorgeous) atmosphere.
