ANTAR is made by Kaoru Aoki, an independent builder with a workshop in Tachikawa, Tokyo. Aoki is a veteran luthier who graduated from the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Arizona, USA in 1978 and began his career as a luthier after returning to Japan. The instruments he makes are generally one-of-a-kind and highly individual.
This soprano long-neck ukulele features a high-grade sycamore top with a fine curly grain and Hawaiian koa back and sides with an exotic grain and non-supped wood. This is a used ukulele manufactured in 2024, so there are a few small dents.
There is one strap pin attached to the end of the body.
The neck is made of premium Honduran mahogany, which is thin and easy to grip, and the fingerboard has a radius, making it extremely easy to press down.
